2nd part of Adrian's birthday celebration

Well, the first part, I haven't blogged yet hehehehe but the 2nd part was soooooo good that I have to blog it immediately after a nap that followed hehehehe

Well, I treated him with our 2nd Champagne brunch (we had our first one in Macau, in Aurora).  I brought him to Cucina in Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel in TST.  It was on the 6th floor and we were sat by the window with Victoria Harbour in sight, bright sun light, a bit foggy but I would still class it as a good day, by HK standard hahaha

not the best but good enough by HK standard, well the sun made it up
Although I haven't been a great fan of champagnes but I like the idea of having a slow morning/afternoon out of the house and a bit of booze and a lot of good food.

There was the very popular Hokkaido long leg crab, oysters, lobsters, great salami and ham and super delicious soups.  Also, the dessert line was almost perfect, and Adrian has had 4 coffees (I had to forbid him from ordering the 5th!!)........

All in all, it was great and I was thinking that we should do this when Steve & Rosana comes over to HK the next time and when Mendy & Chris come back to HK in June.

At about 3:30, we left the restaurant (though the brunch ended at 2:30, we stayed until the afternoon tea started.... baaaaad~~) and went home for a well deserved afternoon nap -- had to get ready for the rugby game tonight!

And, now, we're off to our rugby game!!!

Yes, a proper Valentine's Day even after we got married!

Yes, yes, yes, romance doesn't stop after the honeymoon.

Adrian is the the sweetest husband when it comes to special occasions.  He has the best memory when it comes to special dates -- top quality RAM.  haha!  Well, to be fair, so far, he's the sweetest husband 80% of our married life.  And I hope that the percentage is only going to improve hehehee

Yes, I woke up, greeted him "happy Valentine's day" and gave him a kiss.  And then, I walked into the living room, and there was a card waiting for me.  Nope, not a credit card, just a Valentine's card. It was sweet.

And I went to work.  At just about 10:30, came a phone call from the Receptionist, there was a package for me.  I was just thinking that it was some samples that some suppliers have sent me, it just didn't occur to me because he has already bought me a sapphire pendant before Chinese New Year and there and then, he agreed that it was the Valentine's day + birthday present and that we should not spend anymore money on any other thing.  So I was definitely surprised to find that "the package" was actually 3 dozens of red roses.  And yes, I'm the less romantic one in this marriage because after being happily surprised, I thought about the money... "hmm... I wonder how much he has spent..."  and a colleague congratulated me because I was the first to receive my flowers...??  eh???  I thought flowers from husband doesn't count?

I thought I had to do something more than just getting him on a flight simulator session (got it on cheap at UbuyIbuy), so I bought him a card during lunch.  And since he calls me a sex bomb, I have bought a card that calls him a love machine hahaha well, to me, he IS indeed the ultimate love machine hahahaha!!

Anyway, there was actually a dinner arrangement at 8:30.  I got off work, and as I was walking through City Super, it was full of bodies!! There were long queues not only at the checkouts, the meat section had a queue of just about 2 dozens of people!  Wow!  That's something I've never seen before, maybe booking a table at days like this is not an easy task.

I got to the bus stop, but there was a serious traffic jam that the bus was at least half an hour behind schedule!  Gosh, I still had to go home, get dressed (shower was out of the question when I had to spend the 30-minute shower time waiting for a bloody bus!!), put on make-up and out of the door by 8:15!!

When I got home, I was surprised again by balloons arranged in heart shape stuck up on the wall where the bed is, with another card, and a diamond earring (yes, just one because I only needed one, to replace the one that I've lost, so I've got an upgrade to my earring hehehe)!  Thank you babe!

I gave him his card and he quickly hung up the love machine bit at the bedroom door hehehehe

the gifts and the cards...

And next, after an hour of getting ready, we're off to the restaurant!

the origami on the table

our super fine sake & the funky wine dispenser
Well we were only 5 minutes late when we got to the restaurant, we walked.  It was a Japanese restaurant in the Harbour Plaza Metropolis just a few minutes' walk from our place called "Senzuru", we didn't book the Valentine's set dinner, we ordered a teppanyaki set course, a sushi platter and a bottle of beautiful sake (the best and the most expensive sake we've ever had!! not gonna reveal the price though).

When we got home, there's yet another surprise!  A little one but it's cute!
A love remote!  hehe... something really handy!

Gotta Love Some Drunken People

A man and his wife were awakened at 3 in the morning by a loud pounding on the door.
The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger standing in the pouring rain, was asking for a push.
"Not a chance," said the husband,"it's 3am!!" He slammed the door and returned to bed.

"Who was that?" asked the wife.

"Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answered.

"And you didn't help him??" she asked.

"Of course not!  It's 3am and it's pouring rain outside!"

"You should be ashamed of yourself!" said the wife, "have you forgotten that not long ago when our car broke down 2 nice young men helped us out?  I think you should help him!"

The man did as he was told, got up, got dressed and went out into the pouring rain.

He called out into the dark, "Hello!!  Are you still there?"

"Yes!"

"Do you still need a push?" called out the husband, soaking wet in no time.

"Yes, please!" came the reply from the dark.

"Where are you?"

"Over here!!  On the swing!"

Grey's Anatomy

I know Adrian wouldn't agree with me but Grey's Anatomy is very good, not as good as House but IT IS VERY GOOD INDEED.

And my favourite character is actually Doctor Yang, and I must emphasis that I'm not racist, she's just, or the character is just, the most real Chinese woman ever.  I know, I know, it's just a character, but it's what I want and try to be most of the times. I'm not saying that I'm fake but a lot of times, you have to start with something nice to tell ppl off... it's Asia, it's a sin to say what you want to say out loud... hahahahahahaha

My New Toy - X'mas 2010

Went to the Hong Kong Christmas Bookfest 2010 on Christmas eve.  Bought some books of course and then I spotted a counter that sells Logitech mouse and stuff.  It wasn't the mouse or keyboard that caught my eyes.  It was the Kanvus products that caught my eyes.  I have been looking at similar products for quite some time now and found that the better quality ones are usually quite pricey. This one wasn't quite as expensive.

I tested it a bit and it was not bad!  It was on sale as well.  The sales assistant introduced the Kanvus Life 106 to me as I'm not a hardcore graphic designer (actually not a graphic designer at all!!), and I just like to paint, so this should be perfect for me.

Yes, I bought it.  For less than HK$800 I even got a set of 6 colour markers as gift!  hahahaha!  So I got it home but I didn't want to open it until after Christmas.  So I waited... anxiously...

Then it was Tuesday, when I got to stay home on my own.  I took it out and set it up.

Tada!!

This is the first painting that I painted.  Just scribbling and practicing... but I like it so it's here.

And this morning, again, I'm on my own.  So I sat down, and played with my new toy again (mind you, I'm not a man or a child but I do love to play!)

And this is what I got...

my first "water colour" painting in a long long time!

It feels really weird painting without having to use paper and real colour and you can "undo" your dabs!!  I'm not sure if I would grow to love painting like this more than the conventional way of painting.  But it looks like it's the most sustainable method for an amateur.

I'm still looking at my options with ceramics here in HK -- a studio could be a good idea.

OO... Briefcase...s!!

I received a parcel... erm... a carton to be exact.  I opened it and there are 2 silver  briefcases in it.

OOOOOoooooo.... I thought to myself, "this is strange..."  because I haven't bought anything online lately (not that I don't want to, ai...) and I don't recognize the sender.  Hmmm...

I opened it and... tada!!

Doesn't it just look like a case for firearms?  Or, ermmm... something for parts of a errr... w*rheads?  OOOOoooooo... and both briefcases are identical.  Gosh, blogging this could get me into big trouble...!!

But, there's always a "BUT", and that's the word that makes things interesting, or not... I suddenly remembered, a lighting supplier was supposed to send me 2 spotlight samples.  That should be it.  So I emailed them and asked where my diamonds have gone. hahaha!!

It turns out, their logistic dept. has made a mistake -- not surprised at all, coz the factory/warehouse/manufacturer/supplier is in PRC.  Though the product is designed in Germany for a Swedish company, which is very well designed I must say, but, the screw up just caused half of my confidence in them.

Anyway, they're going to send the ones that actually have been loaded with the lights, straight away.
